Getting started with ClickSort
Install the ClickSort add-in for Outlook from AppSource, sign in with your Microsoft account, and file your first message.
ClickSort is an add-in for Outlook that suggests which folder a message belongs in and files it in one click. The prediction model trains on your own filing and runs on your device — your mail is not sent to us.
Pre-release. ClickSort is not yet listed on AppSource. This page describes the install path the shipping version uses; the listing link goes here the day it is published.
Before you install
| You need | Detail |
|---|---|
| A Microsoft 365 work account | ClickSort identifies you by your Microsoft Entra account |
| A supported Outlook client | New Outlook for Windows, Outlook for Mac, or Outlook on the web |
| Permission to add add-ins | If your admin has locked add-in installs, see Admin deployment |
Classic Outlook for Windows, Outlook mobile and online-archive mailboxes are not supported. Personal Outlook.com accounts are not supported yet.
Install it
- Open Outlook and go to Get Add-ins (in Outlook on the web, the Apps button on the ribbon or in the message surface).
- Search for ClickSort, open the listing, and choose Add.
- Reopen or reload Outlook. ClickSort appears as a button on the ribbon when a message is selected.
Installing from AppSource attaches the add-in to your own mailbox. An administrator deploying it to a whole team should use Integrated apps instead — see Admin deployment.
- Select a message and open ClickSort from the ribbon.
- The pane explains what ClickSort reads and what leaves your device, and links to the privacy policy. Choose Continue to Microsoft.
- Microsoft asks for permission to read and move mail in your mailbox. Approve it. Nothing happens to your mail until you ask ClickSort to file something.
Choosing Not now closes the notice without starting sign-in or requesting mailbox access.
File your first message
ClickSort has nothing to predict from on the first run, so the first few files are ordinary searches. Select a message, open the pane, type part of a folder name, choose the folder and file it. After that, see Training ClickSort on your folders — suggestions start appearing once it has seen how you file.
