Admin deployment via Integrated apps
How a Microsoft 365 administrator deploys ClickSort to users or groups with Integrated apps, instead of each person installing it themselves.
An administrator can deploy ClickSort centrally so that it appears for the people who should have it, without anyone installing anything. Microsoft calls this centralised deployment, and it is done from Integrated apps in the Microsoft 365 admin center.
Skeleton page. The procedure below is Microsoft's, and is correct for deploying any Outlook add-in. The ClickSort-specific parts — the AppSource listing and the tenant-wide consent screen — are verified against a real tenant before this page loses this notice.
What you need
- The Global Administrator role in the tenant. Integrated apps is not available to most delegated admin roles.
- Users on a supported client: new Outlook for Windows, Outlook for Mac, or Outlook on the web. Classic Outlook for Windows and Outlook mobile are not supported.
- If your tenant restricts which add-ins users may acquire, ClickSort must be allowed or centrally deployed; a locked tenant blocks self-install.
Deploy it
- Sign in to the Microsoft 365 admin center as a Global Administrator.
- Go to Settings → Integrated apps.
- Choose Get apps, search for ClickSort, and select it.
- Choose who gets it: just me, specific users or groups, or the entire organisation. Groups may be Microsoft 365 groups, distribution groups or security groups.
- Review the permissions the add-in requests and accept them on the organisation's behalf. This is the point at which consent is granted for the users you selected.
- Finish the deployment and review the summary.
After deploying
- Allow time to propagate. Microsoft states that a deployment can take up to six hours to appear for users, and users who have Outlook open may need to restart or reload it.
- Check it under Integrated apps. The app is listed with its assigned users and its status; that page is where you change assignment or remove it later.
- Removing the deployment removes the add-in from the users it was assigned to. Their locally stored model and preferences are removed with the add-in's stored data. Nothing needs to be deleted from a Vonian server, because the model was never held there.
Licensing
Central deployment puts the add-in in front of a user; it does not buy them a licence. Each user gets the 14-day trial and then the free tier until a paid licence covers them. Organisation purchasing and an editable licensed-user list are planned. See Free tier and upgrading for the plans.
What your tenant sends us
A deployed add-in still trains and files on each user's own device. What reaches Vonian is the licence check — the Microsoft tenant ID and user object ID — and nothing about the mail itself. Data and privacy sets out the whole surface, which is the page to send to a security reviewer.
